A lot has been said about the real-life drama behind Summer Walker’s storytelling in Still Over It and, trust us, we’re here for all the tea. But, we wanna take some time to focus on the amazing craftsmanship that Summer Walker has put into this offering. This eighteen-track album is a perfect example of an artist knowing their aesthetic to a T, while also bringing big names to compliment her raw, emotionally intense storytelling. Walker's lyric writing shines when she gets precise (and personal) and does justice to the old cliche that 'the more specific something is, the more universal it can become.'
With a now-classic mixtape, two EPs, and two albums, Walker has developed a formidable body of work that cements her as one the biggest faces of modern RnB, establishing hers as a household sound often imitated but hardly ever done better than by Walker herself. Summer Walker is a creative force that shows no signs of slowing down. We appreciate all the jams and already have Still over it on repeat.
Some of our favorite songs from the album are Ex for a Reason, No Love, Unloyal, and 4th Baby Mama. What were your favorite tracks on the album? Let us know in the comments!
